Categories & Pricing
Categories organize your catalog; price tiers reward customers who buy more. Both are managed independently of the product itself, so you can restructure without rebuilding.
Categories
Go to Categories to create, rename, and reorder categories. Each category has:
- Name — displayed on the storefront nav and category page.
- Slug — the URL path, e.g. /categories/engraved-gifts.
- Image — a banner shown on the category page.
- Sort order — controls where the category appears in lists.
A product can belong to multiple categories. Assign a mug to both Drinkware and Gifts if it fits in both — shoppers will find it either way.
Bulk pricing (price tiers)
Many custom product businesses run on bulk orders: the more a customer buys, the cheaper each unit gets. Copper Anvil has first-class support for this.
On any product, add price tiers with a minimum quantity and a per-unit price. For example:
- 1–11 units — $15 each (the base price)
- 12–49 units — $12 each
- 50+ units — $9 each
The storefront shows the tier table on the product page, and the cart auto-selects the correct tier as the quantity changes.
Compare-at prices
Want to show a product as discounted? Set a compare-at price higher than the base price and the storefront will render it struck through next to the real price. Great for sales and bundle incentives.
Discounts
For promotions that apply across the cart — not just a single product — use Discounts. Create a code, pick a type (percentage, fixed amount, or free shipping), and set optional rules: minimum order value, expiry date, usage limit, first-order-only.
